Italian Baroque Era Painter, ca.1563-1639 Although he was eight years older than Caravaggio, he is nevertheless regarded as a Caravaggesque artist, so deeply was his mature style affected by his knowledge of the younger painter's art. Karl Ferdinand Wimar
(also known as Charles Wimar and Carl Wimar) (1828-1862), was a German-American painter who concentrated on Native Americans in the West and the great herds of buffalo. He is known for an early painting of a colonial incident: his The Abduction of Boone's Daughter by the Indians (1855-1856), a depiction of the 1776 capture near Boonesborough, Kentucky of Jemima Boone and two other girls by a Cherokee-Shawnee raiding party.

Konstantinos Volanakis
(Greek, b. Heraklion, Crete, 1837- d. 29 June 1907) was a Greek painter, considered one of the best of the 19th century. Born to a wealthy family, he went to Trieste, Italy, in 1856 where he took up painting. He studied in the Munich Academy. He is one of the foremost representatives of the Munich School, a Greek artistic movement of the 19th century. Michalis Oikonomou, another Greek painter, was one of his pupils. He died in 1907. His works are today exhibited in major museums in Greece and abroad.
